Dr. Ryan Pearson is an ambitious and passionate polymer chemist and biomedical engineer focused on developing novel therapeutics to treat human diseases. He has expertise in nanoparticle engineering, analytical assay development, and nanobio interactions. His ability to develop and communicate innovative solutions to complex scientific and engineering problems sets him apart and enables his work to have wide-reaching impacts.
Dr. Pearson obtained his doctorate in Biopharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Illinois at Chicago (Prof. Seungpyo Hong) where he designed and tested novel polymer-based drug delivery systems. Following his doctorate studies, he was a research fellow in the Department of Biomedical Engineering (Prof. Lonnie Shea). In that role, Dr. Pearson spearheaded numerous projects with aims using nanomaterials to achieve specific immunomodulation. He has published his academic research in top peer-reviewed journals including ACS Nano, Advanced Functional Materials, Chemical Communications, and Macromolecules.
